Epoxy Flooring is one of the most favored flooring
types in the building industry. Epoxy floor coverings can be implemented on
many flooring surfaces this includes residential houses, industrial plants,
hangars and car show rooms etc.
Concrete surfaces are rough, porous, and abrasive to chemicals.
But Epoxy flooring creates a protection layer over the floor surface. Epoxy
Floors can withstand the abrasion; for that exact reason, epoxy floors are used
in industrial plants and factories as they are the best heavy duty floors
available on the market.
Epoxy flooring is tough, smooth, aesthetic and resistance to
Moisture, Chemicals and wear & tear which gives abrasion resistance to
surfaces, easy to clean and offers a very glossy look to the surface. Due to
these properties this kind of flooring is suitable for Industries like
Automobile, Pharmaceuticals, Dairy and other Food grades.
The molecules of the epoxy resin are cross-linked; this is why
they are almost impermeable. Due to the unique chemistry that is between the
molecules of the epoxy resin, the epoxy chemical compounds are cross liked that
make them highly resistant to many things including chemicals, air intrusion
and water as well as corrosive materials in some cases. Besides to this Epoxy
floors have amazing adhesive characteristics.
The difference between Epoxy Flooring and an Epoxy Floor Coating
lies in the depth of the epoxy. An epoxy floor must be at least one millimeter
thick. Any epoxy floor that is less than one millimeter thick is best referred
to as an epoxy floor coating.
Due to this reason only Epoxy floors and Epoxy coatings are
becoming increasingly popular and emerged as a promise for commercial and
industrial flooring applications.
